The Microchip we use is of the same type that may be in your dog, cat or horse! It is very reliable and is the standard style chip used for animal implants throughout Europe so..... If you saddle gets stolen you can be pretty sure that, wherever it turns up, there is likely to be a reader, close by, that can read your chip. |

The PetScan reader is an excellent microchip scanner that is increasingly proving itself in the equine and companion pet marketplace. For a hand-held it has a very good read distance, is robust and is relatively inexpensive. It has a useful, strong strap so it can be hung in a convenient place or on the wrist when in use. The PetScan is ideal for livery yards and for use at events where either a horse or some tack might want to be check scanned! |

From the same manufacturer as the PetScan reader(above), My Pet Scanner is another excellent microchip scanner but it only reads FDX-B style chips. Fine to read the Chips4Tack chip in your saddle and also probably alright for your horse, dog or cat but it may not read older style chips so if the animal is old this scanner may noy recognise the chip. |
