Training
For details of our arranged training courses please go to the bottom of this page. 18th September 2011 ..... Another course completed and two new C4T ID Fitters appointed, this time covering North Yorkshire (Julia Barnitt) and Wendy Jones is covering West Yorkshire. Course Comments: Course content information By using Chips4Tack to ID mark your saddles and you can be sure that only properly trained chip-fitters will be involved. We have retained Master Saddler Line Asser Hansen to train our fitters and the training is very thorough and covers all the various saddle styles and designs. The Chip-Fitter Training is a day course held normally at an equine or agricultural college or an equestrian centre as far as possible, within easy travelling distance. You will be introduced to the different styles of saddles, the tools used in saddle marking and the basic method of fitting our marking system, including engraving the visual identifier. You learn how and where to chip a saddle and importantly, where not to chip one! The Training Course is split loosely into four sections; 1) Tools Familiarisation. A short session showing the tools we use and how to use them. 2) Our Master Saddler introduces you to the saddles you are likely to come across and explains where and how we chip the different saddle styles. 3) Practical Session where you get to chip and engrave some saddles under our Master Saddlers supervision 4) A short session about Registering the saddle on the Immobilise database followed by a question and answer session where trainees can raise any points of concern or interest with any member of the Chips4Tack Team. We are looking to train and appoint Chip Fitters in all areas of the UK and our criteria are: a) People already working with horses or
who are very active b) Members of Horsewatch are very welcome. c) Local Saddlers and Saddle Fitters If you are interested and want to find out more contact us at: tony@chips4tack.com or phone me on 01323 460887 Click [here] to see a video of a training day

We can't of course show here where or how you would go about microchipping the saddle. Part of the value of the microchip is that it is invisible and so cannot be tampered with. Anyway, it's placement depends to a certain extent on the type of saddle being chipped so it is not always in the same place. Arranged Training Courses Northern England Course ... 25th April.
